When a quote is provided for standard installation, it is subject to several conditions. Standard installation of an undersink filter system requires accessible, visible, 1/2" copper pipe or flexi-hose and a suitable location on the sink to install the faucet. Examples of non-standard installations include pipes hidden in the wall, 3/8" pipe used with some mixer faucets and marble or granite benchtops. Situations such as these will incur an extra charge due to extra labour and/or fittings required.
Standard installation for whole of house systems require unrestricted access to 3/4" copper pipe at the desired location of the unit.
Commercial and industrial installations normally require a site inspection before a valid quote can be determined.
The life of a filter cartridge is dependent on several factors, including volume of use, length of service and most significantly, feed water quality. A filter may last longer than a year given favourable conditions, or may block in a day if enough sediment is present in the water supply.
An example of premature filter blockage occurs when mains supplies are shut down for works and are subsequently reopened. The pressure surge often dislodges sediment lining the mains pipes, which then moves downstream until either being released through an unfiltered tap or becoming trapped in a sediment filter. This can be frustrating for the consumer who may feel that the filter system is faulty. In actual fact, the opposite is true, the system is doing its job. The positive side is that although the filter cartridge is sacrificed, it protected the consumer from the effects of dirty water.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee the lifespan of any filter media, as the systems are subject to water quality beyond our control. We can only advise on the history of filter cartridge life in a particular area, which may or may not be applicable to our situation.
Systems installed by our plumbers are covered by a 12 month, on-site warranty that applies to the equipment (excluding filter media) and labour. If a situation arises, requiring our attendance, we will attend at our earliest convenience, giving priority to emergency situations. If the problem is deemed to be a warranty issue, there will be no charge for parts or labour. Callouts that are not attributable to a warranty item will be charged at standard callout rates.
Systems that are sold in kit form and installed by anyone other than our trained staff are covered by a 12 month, return to factory warranty that applies only to the equipment (excludes filter media and installation). It excludes damage resulting from installation attempts by anyone other than our trained staff.
